Canada and Other Countries

As this survey continues to grow, we hope to provide useful information for regions outside the United States. That can only happen with active participation from user assistance professionals around the world. This 2001 survey received considerably more international responses than in 2000.

Canada

We received 90 responses from Canada, representing seven provinces. We separated these responses from the rest of the data so we can generate more accurate statistics. However, the response size limits the types of statistics we can generate for this population. The following values are listed in Canadian dollars using a currency exchange of $0.66 USD/CAD.

The overall average compensation is $60,412 CAD per year.

There were responses from 58 women and 29 men. The salary disparity is much larger than the United States with men receiving 15% higher compensation.

Other Countries

We received 85 responses from residents of countries other than the United States or Canada. The response size limits the types of statistics we can generate for this population. We looked only at responses where the hourly work week is 35 hours or more.

The average salary value for this group is of dubious value due to the extremely wide range of salary responses. The figure shows the complete range of salaries reported to us. Two-thirds of the salary responses are in the range of $30,000 to $50,000 USD.
