The 2001 WinWriters Salary Survey

For Software User Assistance Professionals

The software user assistance community continues to grow as a major segment of the technical communications field and a vital component of software development. Over 5,000 members of the Society for Technical Communication are members of the Online Special Interest Group, making it the largest SIG. In the job market, Help authors are constantly in demand.

But do you know what you're worth? How do you stack up against your peers? How do location, experience, and the size of your organization affect your salary? What kind of user assistance development skills command top dollar in the marketplace? What should you expect when it is time for a salary increase?

The WinWriters Salary Survey is designed to supply you with answers to many of these questions. The survey is specifically designed to collect data about Help authoring professionals. Over 1,100 user assistance professionals responded to our year 2000 survey and we welcome your participation in this latest installment.
